I belong to Maharashtra, but the family has settled down in Belgaum,a small town that has been the bone of contention between Maharashtra and Karnataka. After my primary education all over India I completed my schooling and B.Sc in Belgaum. Later I got my M.Sc and Ph.D in Pharmacology and went for a post doc to Max Planck Institute in Gottingen. On my return I was involved in basic research for around 6 years after which I moved to the Pharmaceutical Industry. After 20 years as a Medical Advisor, I am now teaching Clinical Research in an institute in Pune.
I am married and my wife is a pharmacologist working as a consultant from home. My son is a Captain in the EME corps, of the Indian Army.
